College Savings -- Upromise.com

Anyone out there interested in helping to save for my college?? If you haven't heard of Upromise, you need to check it out. It DOES NOT require you to sign up for a new credit card. And, it doesn't cost you a penny because participating companies donate a small portion (1-10%) of your total purchase on certain things such as hotels, travel, groceries, gas, dining, etc. directly to my 529 college saving account. For instance, if you use any of the following SBC services: SBC Connections, SBC Long Distance, Cingular® Wireless, or SBC | DISH Network, SBC will donate up to $5/mo to my college fund. This is just one example of how you can help just by signing up. It's a small amount but every little bit helps.

You can also do this for multiple kids if you want. The program will divide the contributions however you choose between multiple future students.

Please check it out.

Thanks,
Abigail & Family :)

2 month doctors visit

Sorry no pictures this week. Just wanted to mention the results of today's doctor appointment. Abigail is perfectly healthy and actually ranks 90th percentile in both height and weight for her age. :) She is growing fast!

She got her shots today too unfortunately :( She didn't like it and apparently has one of the loudest screams of any child they've ever heard. Hee hee. :) Poor thing.

Printed Pictures?

Parents and family (well..anyone actually - unless you are Gerber Corp. wanting to make Abby your next baby model), all of these pictures are available to be made into prints. The originals are mostly a high enough resolution that you could print pretty much any size photo you wanted. Just let me know which one you want and I will send you a link to the high resolution version of the picture.
Not sure how I want to do this yet...maybe I'll just upload the photo to a site like snapfish or something so you can order the print from there online and it will show up in your mailbox at home... Still trying to figure that part out. Any opinions? Please leave a comment!

Thanks,
Bobby

Rip Van Abby-winkle

Miss Abby slept 8 hours last night without letting out so much as a peep! She went right to sleep and I actually had to wake her up. We've moved her into her nursery, and she loves it. She's weighing in at a whopping 10.5 oz. now.

She's got a good head on her shoulders...

And she can basically hold it up on her own now, when she is being held upright in your arms at least. One of the ways we spend "wake time" is by having "tummy time", during which she gets thoroughly frustrated with herself because she can't crawl or push herself up like she wants. Originally we thought she was pretty calm, but she can kick up a storm and loves to squirm all over the place, even out of your arms, if she was strong enough!

Picture site updated.

Unfortunantly, we can't store all of the pictures that we want to on this blog. So I have a site that I maintain, http://www.bobbyandchristina.us/, that is basically a photo archive. Any photo's linked from this blog will be to that site.

To bottle or not to bottle...

Don't tell the pediatrician but we decided to try the bottle tonight. Christina went out with the gals (first time in a long while) but going out meant the baby would miss dinner. Not an option. So I went out and purchased Abby's first bottle (Playtex VentAire). Dad was babysitting and it was time for Abby to eat so I broke out the bottle. Expecting to have to call Christina back home I tried for the first time...and...NO PROBLEM! I didn't have to trick her or anything! She drank 2oz I think.

Huge success for mother and baby (Got breastfeeding figured out...now the bottle too)...bad news for dad. First thing Christina said when she got home and found out all went well was "Great! Now you can take a turn in the middle of the night with feeding the baby!" Sweet...

New blog and Abby's first week.

(Click the image to go to photo gallery.)

Welcome to our blog! I know it (blog) sounds funny but so many people wanted to be kept up to date regarding the happenings of our family I figured this was the easiest way without clogging everyone's email (or costing me a fortune...this is free :). I also didn't want to disappoint those assuming I would have some high tech way of communicating to everyone. :)

If you wish to be informed of future updates to this blog, you can join our Google group (http://groups-beta.google.com/group/Hubbard-Family). Just send me an email and I will add you to the group. Once added, you can change the way you are informed of our updates (email, summary email, no email, etc) or unsubscribe at any time.
